I will say, Mr. Landy has done it again! A great continuation for those who are a fan, and for those who chose to start here, STOP!!!!!! Please pick up the first book, as you will be dropped in a world you are not prepared for. I will not spoil anything here, all i can say is, i cant wait until the next book!
An amazing series. Every fight, twist, sarcastic comment, just everything is so amazing. i love it. the characters are lovable (...most of them) and Skulduggery is just sarcastic af, an amazing book, good for any age, i love this series!!
i wish a movie would be made for this, even though i know it'll be terrible movie because Skul will have to be animated, but just for it to be more popular. almost none of my friends have heard of it but the ones that have

My 13 year old son is still reading this series, which he started when he was 9 or 10. The story line is silly but intriguing, and I can hear him chuckle at the British sense of humor (sarcastic and dry), which he just loves. He's read "everything," but says this series is by far the best.
Book arrived in great shape in the time frame promised. These books are so hard to find for my son who came to love the first few in the series and has been asking to complete them for over a year now. They will make great Christmas gifts for him. )
this book is very disppointing! I have been following this series and purchased this book, hoping it to be a nice follow-up to the fourth book, Dark Days, but this was awful! I think the author has run out of ideas.
Title says all. This is the fith book in Mr. Landy's "Skulduggery Pleasant" series, and, I must say, it is spectacular just as I expected. I read one review that said that;

"...Suffice it to say that this is NOT a book for children and even younger teens. I would say that a mature 16 year old would be the youngest that should read this book. Although if I had a teenager who wanted to read this book or any that follow (for a total of 9 books according to the author), I would be worried why they wanted to.
So if anyone over 16-18 years wants a horror genre book filled with offensive, disturbing material and a unrelenting descent into depressing darkness & gratuitous violence; well at least you were warned."

This is untrue. I am younger than 16, and so is a friend of mine that reads these books as well, and we both enjoy the books very much. I've seen no offensive, disturbing material in this book, and many television shows and video games are much more violent than Derek Landy's work.

Overall an amazing book. I'd give it more than five stars if I was able.
I loved the audio books narrated by Rupert Degas, so was very shocked when these audio CDs arrived narrated by Brian Bowles. I LOVE the snark and adventure in this series--REALLY wish the remaining 4 titles would come to the US as eBooks--but Brian is not Rupert. I noticed that yet another person narrates the next two or three audio CDs. Keep this in mind if you are attached to Rupert. At this point, I want to switch to the eBooks because I love the stories but not the new narrators.
